I am shocked to see "Sheaffer" name on this poor excuse of a fountain pen!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Not Good for Cartridge Use - get a converter *by R***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2012* For what this pen costs, it is worth the price, and it comes with an ink cartridge, which appears to be an unlisted bonus. Unfortunately, the cartridge it comes with isn't an exact fit. I also tried to install a Sheaffer ink cartridge (made for Sheaffer fountain pens), and it isn't an exact fit either.When a cartridge is an exact fit for a fountain pen, it fits snugly inside the pen, so that when you screw the cover on the pen, it pushes the cartridge down to pierce the cartridge and form a tight seal. This tight seal prevents the pen from leaking. Unfortunately, both the ink cartridge that came with the pen, and the Sheaffer cartridge, don't get properly sealed when I install the cover. With a plastic pen like this one, having a proper seal might put too much stress on the pen and crack the plastic.I will probably install a Sheaffer converter and use bottled ink with this pen. I suggest if you are going to buy this pen that you do the same. This will require you to purchase additional materials (a Sheaffer converter and a bottle of ink), but I am told by fountain pen aficionados that bottled inks are really the best way to use a fountain pen since you can have fun selecting ink colors, and use scented inks.EDIT: I guess I shouldn't be surprised, the converter fits in this pen as well as I had hoped the cartridges would fit. Evidently Sheaffer designed this pen for use with a converter, not ink cartridges.
