So far so good. I have been using it since before I was aware of the issue with 5.0. I would not have risked it had I known third party chargers are bricking devices after update 5.0. I make no promises to you but, I can say that I have used it to charge while in stand-by and charged while playing Zelda several times and it has not bricked it.
