The double-wall and lid really help to insulate hot drinks and keep them hotter for much longer than an ordinary mug. The addition of a glass saucer with this one is also nice to have, although it feels a bit more fragile than the mug and will need to be stored carefully in order to avoid breakage. A three piece cup set inclusive of saucer & lid. It is extremely light. So much so that at first I wondered if it was plastic. All 3 parts are hollow glass. This seems to be the method of insulation. The cup never feels more than comfortably warm. Even without the saucer it would not cause heat damage (rings) to wood furniture. The lid seems to keep the beverage hot for as long as needed. Being so light and thin, I have no idea how robust it is, but so far so good. When first examining the cup, I noticed a pip on the base. Presumably the seal point after manufacture. It seemed slightly soft and I carefully abraded it before use. The lightness of the saucer means that it is prone to stick to the cup if any coffee/tea is spilled onto it.
