Foam clay is made from tiny little particles of foam, and once dry, is lightweight, slightly flexible and very durable.Due to the nature of foam clay, how you work with it is a little different to other types of clay, but you can say that about every type of clay really, they all have their quirks and you need to work with them to achieve the best results.So, when you first pull the clay out of the bag, it's quite stretchy. This absolutely has uses. But if you want a firmer clay to work with, all you have to do is condition it for a little bit to allow it to evaporate some of the water, or condition it for about 15 seconds, then squish it out as flat as you can and leave it for a few minutes. Then pick it up and condition it some more and you'll immediately feel that the clay is firmer than it was.With the clay being fresh, you don't need to do anything to stick two pieces together, other than press them together. They will bond immediately, which is a great time saver!It also dries extremely smooth, so you never have to worry about fingerprints. And I've never had any dust stick to it either.Here's an extra little tip if you need to add some weight to your clay. Mix a little cold porcelain into the foam clay. They combine really well and create a whole new type of clay that has great uses!Anyway this is by far the best foam clay I have ever tried. Doesn't dry too quickly so not racing against the clock to finish sculpting, and the consistency is just perfect.
