I often put a dead cat (windshield) in the case with the recorder which adds a nice extra bit of cushioning protection and its great to have it all in one nice, sturdy, neat package for when I'm out in the field. I've also found I can fit a small power bank in there too when required. The Tascam X6 is a great piece of kit, but it is made from flimsy plastic and doesn't feel very robust. Especially when I compare it to my other recorders - I feel it is definitely the more flimsy and precarious of them all. This is why this case really is a must if you plan to take the Tascam X6 out on journeys with you. I could never just place the X6 in a bag without a case - I can almost guarantee it wouldn't survive for wrong. Do yourself a solid if you have this recorder and grab this for extra protection. I have also used this with my Tascam DR100 MK III too and it fits this model really well too which is a nice bonus. I can't say for certain, but I'd imagine it would be a good fit and suitable for a wider range of larger portable recorders than advertised. Review: Portacapture X8 Fits perfectly - Having just bough a Tascam Portacapture X8 for making some field recordings, the sensible move was to make sure I had a reasonable case for it when it was being moved around. This one does the job without being too large or moving to a hard plastic case. Whilst it offers some protection, I'm not sure if it was dropped from a big height how much protection it would actually offer - particularly to the mics. There's just enough space inside to store the WS86 windscreen and a data/charging cable. Could be improved but would recommend *by A***H on 20 June 2025* Great quality and seems sturdy and tough. Haven’t used long but I thing the zips should last if you don’t over pack it. Gods value considering all and lots of device fit well. I used with gopro and also a couple of other field recorders and it worked well.
