I did add a very thick pad underneath which fits perfectly at 4x4ft, and it has made this a safe area for our kids to practice flips and jumps. As an add in bonus, they occasionally incorporate it into magnatile builds as well since it’s magnetic. Would recommend to anyone looking to purchase for children.
