I changed this once, and it HAS indeed collected a lot of dust, which was one of my goals for the purchase. Obviously can't see if it's collecting viral particles, but that's life. I presume it is, based on the technology. All these brand name replacements are over-priced-- which is why the air purifier units themselves are priced less, so that you'll be a filter customer.
