I have another Jamie Oliver cookbook and I’m delighted by the consistency of his philosophy. Delicious healthy food focused on quality ingredients. Not too fussy! There are some different names and packaging we use in the US, still the photos make it clear what ingredients the recipe is calling for. I’ve never seen so many creative poultry recipes in my life! That alone is inspiring! The veg chapter is fantastic. You can easily focus on a plant based diet with this cook book too! The ingredients are easy to find, I often go to my local Safeway and grab what I need to whip up one of these meals. I do keep a full spice rack at all times, so I often make my own spice blends. I don’t eat dairy, I also make my own homemade plant based yogurt and cheeses. I have no issues making a quick substitution that fits my diet and pantry. The methods are well executed and easy to follow. The recipes give me inspiration to mix and match. The flavors are exceptional! I live in a large diverse city in NorCal, so I am accustomed to food and flavors from all over the world. I grew up in the Midwest in a diverse capitol city and it’s similar there. I find the ingredients, the “5 ingredient pantry,” spices, flavors and methods to be easy, delicious and inspiring! I recommend this book to everyone needing weeknight meal inspiration! My only complaint is that the book arrived slightly damaged, the title page has a crease in it. I goober my cookbooks, so I kept it. I was disappointed my new book came with damage from desertcart. You won't be disappointed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Has some good ideas for quick meals *by K***P on February 6, 2024* This is a little more like a coffee table book than a cookbook - very slickly produced, heavily reliant on graphics. I mistook it for a book about recipes for a Mediterranean Diet; it is instead focused on Mediterranean dishes. I did not rate it down for this, as it was my mistake - I only mention it to keep others from making the same mistake. I went through all the recipes and was a little dissapointed to find many using odd ingredients like squid and duck. These aren't ingredients I associate with quick meals. In fact, despite being a book of recipes using only five ingredients, not all of the recipes are quick to make. There are also way too many recipes in the book using eggplant, since we all know everyone hates eggplant.
