I am happy to report that this doesn't squeak at all. There is an occasional thud when the central wooden plank hits done on the wooden slats that form the base but I removed this problem by placing something soft between the boards.As other people have stated, this does not take 30 mins to construct. It took me just under 2 hours but it was quite easy to do.It looks nice and does the job. Headboard was a bit fiddly at first but did one side and then stood it up on end and the other upright slotted in easily. I also liked that I could decide which sides to have on display for the headboard. The bed itself is sturdy and rock solid. Holes for screws and rawl plugs were all 100% correct. NB make sure you have the circle cut out facing the wall when you fit the centre support under the headboard, I hadn't bothered to read the instructions properly at that part and it was fiddly having to unfasten and turn it. It's a solid bed, very comfortable and no creaks.
