In my opinion they're too rough looking for that but definitely strong enough. If you do decide to use them, use self tapping metal screws to go straight into the frame of your door. Obviously make sure the screws are not too long. **Q: What width are the brackets for bolt** A: The brackets are 6 cms. The bolts are very heavy by the way. **Q: Did any one get screws with this product** A: I did not get screws. But it is a good solid bolt **Q: What size of gap can these span? The frame of the gate is 15 cm above the floor can the brackets be above that and still hold secure?** A: Yes, should do.
