I was not expecting a stainless steel filter tray! I was thrilled. Very few parts, smartly made. This is a keeper. I'll will purchase a second one soon. Some minor humming or rather vibration which seem to mean I needed to adjust the fountain as there could have been an irregularity in the leaning of the floor that had nothing to do with the pump. It got quiet as I adjusted by giving a slight lift here & there. I don't care at all for a quiet fountain, I care that it provides some waterfall, has almost no plastic & is safe. This company has finally came thru by eliminating the huge plastic filter tray they used to have in their plastic models or maybe it was another co. I don't care all that much for the water viewer. I hope it doesn't leak. I wish they would make a model without it.The company nailed a fabulous model. The flower on top is decorative & steel. The sponge fits against the pump--it is small & only what's necessary. I like that! Less sponge & more filter. The filter is large & will do it's job. The water flow could be a little more abundant. Otherwise, Oh Wow! My kitty loves it.Edit October 1, 2023: The second time around was perfect. I listened to advice & after the first run, I made sure the pump was perfectly aligned with all. It worked better than before with all water coming out evenly on all sides! I also discovered that *all* parts are removable for washing. You must be careful not to lose the rubber band that goes around the opening of the tray. I have no idea how to contact the seller directly if you lose one of the parts. There are only a few options when you contact Amazon. Why always no e-mail address for these sellers yet they state to contact them & they state they have excellent customer service? Also: second run NO NOISE, NO HUMMING. Silence! Align the pump correctly & it should work like a dream. My kitty loved this one immediately. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what I needed. *by O***N on February 10, 2024* My cat wasn't drinking water out of a regular dish but he liked to drink out of the toilet which I wasn't happy about. So I found this cat fountain and it's perfect. I have two cats and they both drink out of it daily so no more worrying if they're getting enough water. It's very quiet and rather pleasant to look at.. when it does start making a slight noise I know it's time to clean it which is really simple. Once I rinse off the filter (also came with a second filter which I haven't needed to use yet and I've had it for 2 months) and wipe out the dish and fill it back with water it's silent again. I probably clean it every 2 weeks and I never need to refill it in between cleanings. I will be purchasing a second one for my mother who also has a cat. My overall opinion is great quality, easy to operate and clean, keeps the water cool and clean. Definitely worth the money. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Received faulty pump; customer service was excellent; replacement pump didn't last that long *by _***M on August 8, 2023* I decided to upgrade to the stainless steel water fountain for my cats since they love water fountain bowls from this same brand. The plastic bowls get rough around the edges of the bowl over time, which makes it harder to clean, and I was excited to see they had a stainless steel option. Well, while it looks very sleek, the water running into the bowl is quite noisy. I don't mind noise, but if you're looking for a quiet option, this is not the bowl for you!Plus, the water only runs on one side of the flower and gentle fountain because the water does NOT run unless I tilt the upper lid of the bowl a smidge to the left. At first, I thought the entire bowl was somehow not level or that I didn't put the three pieces on together evenly, but nope. It's sitting in the same exact spot as my original bowl and the lid of the bowl has to be pushed a little off level to the left in order for the water to actually run. Because of this, the water only runs on the left side of the flower or gentle fountain (I tried both). I can't say I'm excited about how this bowl runs, but unless there's some sort of secret to getting it to run the way the plastic ones, I can't say it lives up to my basic expectations.ETA: I'm currently in contact with customer service about the pump, which turns out to be a known issue by the brand and is covered by the 2-year warranty that comes with the purchase of the bowl. I'll update my review with what happens with that as the pump has stopped working all together on and off!ETA 2: I received the replacement pump as well as instructions on how to remove the original pump and put the new one in with the anti-leak build of this bowl. The new pump works as it should and there is some light noise, but it's around 85% less noisy than the original faulty pump. The customer service was excellent. They were very helpful and more than happy to send out a replacement pump as I had received a bad one. I don't know who is happier: me or my cats lol! My cats LOVE this bowl.SO WITH A WORKING PUMP LOL the bowl is running as it should. The water is running on all sides of the flower (my cats prefer to have a flower on their bowls for the water to drip from) and it no longer has to have the top of bowl a little off center to the left in order to run. I'm extremely happy with the bowl as well as the customer service!ETA 3: I'm back again because the replacement water pump/motor only lasted about three months before it started acting up and then stopped working all together.
