The weighting is a nice feature, not critical, just adds to the pleasure of using the set. There are no seams to catch stuff (I'm sure they are there, just well finished) and they seal together just like they should.
Review: Heavy tin - I have 2 sets of these. They are really robust. They are also seamless, heavy, and a bit rigid. I’ve learned not to soak these in the sink overnight as the brand etching turns a little rusty. The seal when shaking is great, no leaks. Breaking the seal to pull them apart can take a pretty hard. I have to really knock the side hard. I like these and got the same set for my adult daughter.
