There IS a little lip to protect the screen when laying face down, but it is small. The Phone case itself is sleek, nice, I like it a lot - except for the peeling paint after a day. Wallet is bulky, but can get used to it, to have the convenience of attaching it to the phone case when needed, GREAT Feature. Wallet itself is tight, pleather, and I can understand some of the reviews say it broke/ripped/jammed (zipper). GREAT Idea, needs some work. The seams are pulling apart. Also, the phone case lends poor protection. I’ve had iPhones for years and have used a variety of cases with each phone and I have never had a crack or chip in any of them. This is the first case I have ever used that has not protected my phone from day to day use and being occasionsally dropped. The back glass on my iPhone 8 cracked with one drop from about 2-3 feet.
