As stated on description is 7” that is in-corrected** A: 7 inches is the correct height of the aluminum bottom half of the cooker. The wicker top adds another 7 or 8 inches. It works really well, in my experience. It's a good idea to clean the wicker top immediately after use, while the rice particles are soft and easy to remove. I recommend it. **Q: How much rice can I make in this at one time?** A: I' love to answer but I haven't received it yet. Been a month and half. Didn't come with dimensions, but if from the picture/price, and my calculations are right....you should be able to get at least 6 -8 cups of rice when finished. it won't expand anymore once you've soaked the sticky rice over night then place in basket. Put the water in the pot, then on the stove to boil, and let it steam about 30 min with a dish cloth over the top of basket to steam. Hope this helps because sticky rice is amazing and tasty.
