You don't have to rely on a foul-tasting tongue lick to seal--they have an adhesive strip closure. It didn't seal 100% perfectly, I did add one small piece of scotch tape to an edge, but it was close to being sealed well without the amount of tape I usually use. They're easy to write on, don't smear, and take ink legibly.
