Well pleased. *by M***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 August 2020* I bought this device mainly in order to capture programmes saved on the hard disk of a Sky box. These saved programmes have accumulated and are occupying valuable disk space. This device enables me to copy the programmes as mp4 files to a USB memory stick and thence copy to a computer where they can be further saved to the computer hard drive or SD cards or wherever. SD cards are very compact and handy portable devices, and modern smart TVs can read them.This device works as it says and does all this. The accompanying software is simple and easy to use. The trimming feature is useful to remove unwanted bits from the beginning or the end of the files. Don't be put off by the fact that the device records programmes onto the memory stick as separate files of approx size each 2 Gb (about 25 min duration). The software combines these into a single file and is a doddle to use.The instructions could do with being a little more detailed. I had some difficulty coaxing this device into life on the first use, but after that it has been just fine. Warning: if you save to standard SDHC cards, which use FAT32 format, the maximum file size is 4 GB, though the total capacity of the card can be up to 32 GB. Most read devices skip from one file to the next. Β Cloner Alliance HDML Cloner Box TurboTurbo is the cut down version of their excellent Evolve and Pro hdmi capture devices, i have both, these devices are so useful to keep next to the TV if ever i need to record something that i want to keep.It captures 1080P resolution video from an HDMI video source to the supplied usb memory stickIt records MP4 files that can be read by pretty much any computerIt is designed to be a simple to operate stand alone usb recorder and comes with a 16gb usb memory stick which is useful.Also in the box is a mains power supply, HDMI cable and usb cable.The device has a QR code on the rear, this links you to a site to download Windows software.I have no use for this as it works great stand alone so i have not tried it.In my video i show actual recordings made with the device and also show a split screen view of the original signal and the recorded file for comparison purposes.I have also uploaded this video in 1080p resolution to my channel of videos that have something to do with Tubes, just do a search and you will find it. Registration seemed easy and then links to software were provided, however the software did not live up to its billing it is very weak and very low in terms of capabilities/ features.I recorded some video of HDMI and video looked kinda okay but sound was awful, that is when I got to play it. The HDML software wouldn't play its own recording; the one's saved to computer. The direct save to memory stick faired better in that the content would play once you moved the memory stick however the sound was terrible. Tried several options including different MICs etc and there was still a horrible buzz even when recording.I am sure some will say you only get what you pay for, well in this case I do not feel I got what was clearly described in the product headlines or the features/description. Now maybe I just had a bad unit but after I started getting problems I reviewed the 1 star comments and low and behold there were my problems. The customer support must be non-existent as I have not received a single supply (bar the automated emails).The extra software amounts to two software packages HDML Cloner Pro Helper and MP4 cloner and these both had problems with their own recordings being non compatible, couldn't even take a sceenshot without erroring. I just wonder how this scored any higher?
