I quickly ordered a 5 pack of extra batteries, which keep me in the air much more often, but were a pain to charge. So, buying this charger seemed like a natural course of action. It seems to charge very well, but the battery connections to the charger aren't very snug. The little lugs that prevent unwanted disconnection on the Hubsan just aren't present here, so the connectors slide in and out a little too easily. Not a big deal, unless you intend to try using this in your car.I used my USB inline voltage/current meter on this and was surprised (and pleased) to see how much current it draws. The factory Hubsan charger initially pulls .7 amps at 5.05V or so, which is about 3.5 watts. This charger initially pulls as much as 2.6 amps, which is about 12.9 watts. I say "initially" in those readings because the charger pulls more current at the start of charging and slowly tapers off until the battery is fully charged. Anyways, 12.9 watts comes out to 3.2 watts per battery, which is almost as much as the factory charger. Of course, all these figures are on the 5 volt side of the charger, so the batteries themselves are seeing lower voltage and higher current. After converting to 3.7 volts and allowing for 85% efficiency (both of which are rough guesstimates), the battery probably sees about .8 amps on the factory charger and .74 amps on this one. Not bad, not bad at all.So that's the nitty gritty for the electronics geeks, the short version is: if you provide this charger with a high power USB adapter (like the Sabrent 50 watt 5-port USB charger I used here), you can charge four batteries in almost the same time it takes to charge a single battery on the factory charger. Gone are the hours spent monitoring the factory charger and swapping out the batteries when they're done.My one reservation about this charger is that it should have used a USB micro B port for power input. The cord it comes with is very thin, and while the barrel connector on the end isn't "proprietary", if this cable gets damaged or lost you'll probably just have to get a whole new charger.All in all, I'm very glad I got this as it makes the process of getting the Hubsan back in the air much, much less tedious.UPDATE: I read a few other reviews, and saw that people were actually able to fully insert the batteries by pushing them in very, very forcefully. I tried it and sure enough it worked, but the grip was so tight I had to use needle nose pliers to get the battery back out. If you do this, do NOT just pull on the wires - you will ruin your battery and/or charger. I ended up prying the case open and trimming the retention bumps on each charger port with a hobby knife. Reassembly was a little tricky because the "ports" are really just a connector on the end of a 1" set of wires that's all twisted up until they fit, and each connector fits in its own little slot in the top half of the case. You have to make sure the wires don't get pinched during reassembly because you really, REALLY don't want a short circuit. There is no glue, the case halves stay together fairly well on their own due to the post/hole design. Now the batteries snap in nicely, stay there the whole time, and can be removed with a reasonable amount of force. I can now use this in the car while driving without having to worry about the connectors sliding apart. I still wish this used a micro USB port rather than the barrel connector, but oh well!UPDATE 2: I started noticing that my flight times were substantially reduced from what I originally was getting from my batteries. Some of the flights were down to as low as 2 minutes. It turns out that this charger was cutting off charging a little too early and the cells weren't getting full. I'm still using it because it does boost overall charging speed of my 6 batteries, but I'm having to switch up the routine a little. I'm now charging 4 at a time on this charger but now when it cuts off I'm swapping the batteries one at a time back to the factory Hubsan charger to top them off. Overall, it's still a lot quicker than charging all 6 batteries one at a time on the factory charger, but it's a bit more of a hassle than it would otherwise be. For safety reasons it's better to under charge LiPo's than over charge them, but there is still such a thing as too little. Knocking the rating down to 4 stars :( ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is gold. I noticed in the product description that the 'copter only came with 1 battery, and it was a 40 minute wait to recharge. Given that each battery only gives about a 7 minute flight, waiting another 40 minutes to fly again was not the picture of fun, so I bought more batteries. This charger works like a charm and means I always have plenty of flight time at the ready.Also, because it is a USB device, I can even charge it in the car on the way somewhere, if need be. If you have 3.7 batteries that need to be charged, then getting them all charged at the same time is gold. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Works, but LEDs flicker and glow even with no batteries attached. If you wiggle the power plug even the slightest bit, the LEDs go crazy.
