Fits securely overhousing. I'm using on Cat 7 cable for network endpoints and long HDMI runs. No issues. You'll want an old fashioned crimper to crimp the strain relief to the cable. I didn't solder the shield just crimped it. ### ⭐ I purchased these to make repairs to damaged CAT 7 ... *by A***L on March 30, 2018* I purchased these to make repairs to damaged CAT 7 cable assemblies. Much to my surprise when connecting a repaired cable I find that these connectors do not fit the standard hardware Ethernet receptacle on a router, internet modem, or television. I have no idea what they are intended for but I cannot use these. In addition they were very difficult to get continuity through the repaired cable.
