They are easier to see than you think. I am very impressed with mine. Beats the heck out of a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling! **Q: If I put the device on the wall next to the driver's side of the car it will be on my house door. Will it work if on the passenger side wall-22' away?** A: In theory yes, in practice probably not. You’re pushing the limits of human vision at that distance. The lines on the Park Ranger are about the same width as 20/30 lines used on a vision test chart. In our personal situation, the person on the right side of the garage, has to deal with the passenger side wall being recessed a few feet and the distance from the driver’s seat to the Park Ranger is about 11’. Anything further away would be become increasingly difficult. Consider using a 3M Command Strip to mount the Park Ranger on your door if it’s a nail/ screw issue. As for aesthetics or being in the way, that’s another issue for you to think about. **Q: Can this be placed up high? The front wall of my garage has a bunch of junk and only space avail is about the height of a door.** A: The Park Ranger is designed to be mounted on the side wall of a garage, not the front wall. It's purposes into help you park front to back. Eye level is the most natural and the best height, but any height where you can still see all three lines will work. The Park Ranger goes on the side wall of your garage, so you can turn your head to the side as you pull into the garage and see if you've pulled too far forward (or not far enough). The van has all the latest cameras, bells and whistles to tell me when I'm too close to an object, but this extremely simple device is more accurate. If I parked where the sensors tell me to stop, my garage door would come down on my van. (Seriously, sometimes the sensors are literally screaming at me, but my little plastic friend is always right. (Now if I could figure out how to use one in front of my car so I center myself more accurately!) Cheap, accurate, simple to install, and subtle--love it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So Simple, but Effective *by G***4 on December 19, 2023* I have a 10' x 20' garage and own a small SUV, so precision parking is a must. I recruited a friend to hold the target, which solves the problem of how far into the garage to drive, while I got my car into position. I'd previously put some adhesive padding on the walls to reduce damage from opening the car doors, so after checking to make sure the car doors and the padding were properly aligned, my friend placed the target on the wall and made small adjustments according to my instructions. Once the red lines on the target lined up, my friend used a couple of push pins to fasten the target to the drywall. (The target comes with a couple of small screws, but using them is difficult, given the configuration of the target.) The target doesn't require batteries and it would be easy to re-position if I were to trade cars. There's nothing high-tech about the target, so it's an inexpensive solution to a common problem. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best, easiest, cheapest garage parking device by far! *by H***N on May 14, 2023* I bought one pair and was so happy with it that I bought a second pair! I searched Amazon and looked at every device available to help me determine if my car was pulled in far enough so the garage door would close without hitting the car and yet not too far so that there was inadequate room in front of the car. And then I discovered this obvious but simple and ingenious device that solves the problem without any lasers, mirrors, sonar, batteries, electricity, etc.! When I saw it, it's like the proverbial lightbulb going on, where you hit your forehead and scream, "Of course! How stupid that I was considering all those complex expensive technological monstrosities when this obvious simple solution exists to solve my problem!" I cannot adequately express how great this product is.The only difficulty I had was minor and solvable, attaching it to the wall. It does have 2 small holes designed for a nail or screw to attach it to a wall. It can be hard to get a hammer into the space, but I found that I could hold the nail with a narrow snout pliers and get it fastened. I could have used double sided tape, I suppose, but the heat of Tucson might have loosened it. But there are a multitude of ways to get it attached firmly to the wall, so that is "small potatoes" compared to the complexities involved with the alternatives available. The old KISS principle applies here ... "Keep It Simple, Stupid". I sincerely recommend that you try this before trying a more complex method.
