It just slides out but make sure the display faces down when you slide the tray out. The battery drops straight in with the writing on the battery facing the bottom of the tray and the plain surface facing up. But I'd go with the box. I think someone has tried to summarise a lot of figures and has mixed up "resolution" (0.01mm) and "accuracy" (0.03mm or 0.001 inches).
