Really pretty "aged/shabby chic" finishing on the wooden part and I think the flaps around the light give that special lofty touch to it. The lamp is pretty sturdy too once assembled, but I would still be careful with it because it's pretty lightweight. Assembling was super easy, as was adjusting the height.
