Review: Compact, light, small enough to stash and works well in a pinch. - I bought this not expecting a ton out of it. After all, it lays flat on the ground or it's hung somewhere but in no way is it optimized to catch the sun at the correct angle. It is (technical term here) floppy and standing it up or leaning it against something isn't an option. That being said it does what I expected it to do and it does that well. I average somewhere around 60 watts of output and I've seen as much as 90 watts for short spurts. When I was researching it there were a few reviews that said it was difficult to match up the velcro when you fold it up. The trick here is to press the air of it as you fold it up. If you do that, it's plenty thin enough to get the flap around and attached to the velco strip. The little bag that is on it is fairly useless but it doesn't make things any more or less difficult to work with. I use it at the pool with a 1000-watt-hour power supply that powers a pair of speakers (8 watts nominal 14 watts peak) and the plan is to add a portable fridge to the mix. I can charge anything I want as long as I want, power the speakers, and all the while put more energy in than I am taking out using this panel with that little bit of draw. The USB charging ports on it are efficient and I find that charging from there seems to use less of the incoming power than charging from the power supply. I do notice the output drop a tiny bit, but it's constantly fluctuating and I don't have the sense I'm killing the output by doing that. The ease of flopping it open, throwing it on the ground, and hooking a cable to it cannot be matched. For that kind of completely brainless setup, the output is great. When you have it folded up it's a neat package and it doesn't seem frail or fragile in any way. If you wanted to carry it back packing you could but it would be on the larger end of the panels you'd attempt that with I'd think. I am in no way an expert on solar panels. Logic dictates most of what I know. I would not be scared to try this panel and there is no prior experience necessary to use it how it was intended to be used. The pool is a rough life for anything being packed back and forth and so far I'm impressed by just how unaffected this panel seems to be by all of that.
Review: Awesome little unit - I bought this with this battery pack (https://www.desertcart.com/Renogy-72000mAh-Portable-Generator-Technology/dp/B0791WDZTW). Perfect combo. The solar charger fully charged it up in 4 hours (1 PM to 5 PM on an overcast day). Tested using the pack to run my laptop while charging it (the laptop, not the pack. sadly, you can't charge and use the power pack at the same time). Between the adapters included with both, you probably won't need any others. if you do need something specific you'll want to grab that. it also came with clamps to jump a dead car battery (haven't tried that yet, but i bet it would work in a pinch). One downside is that you can't fit all of the included adapters and cables in the little pocket on the panel. No big deal. i bought a nylon draw sack and tossed that in my backpack for when i need them. these (https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B0834LF61W) small ones are the perfect size and you can write on them with silver sharpie. The whole thing fits in my backpack for when i need it camping, but is too heavy for every day carry. I wish i had bought one sooner. 10/10 would buy again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If the battery of my Truck is deadth, may I recharge it with the 80W panel? more or less how long does it takes?**
A: Dear my friend,Good day and thanks for your question, so far as I know, to preserve the life-span of your battery, it is suggested to always keep it topped off during daily use. For our panel, the peak power is 80W, but on normal sunlight condition, you can get about 50W, (2.2-3.0A 18V) , for most lead-acid battery, its power goes up to 120W (12V60A) It takes about 3-4 hours to fully recharge the battery.

**Q: V*a=w, right? so how does a 60w panel only put out 2.2a at 18v? wouldn't that make this a 39.6w panel?**
A: Odds are the electronics can handle up to 3A nominally. Solar panels have, while in full and maximum sunlight, output of around 20volts ... so there's the 60watts. With solar panels it's always best to halve the wattage rating so you know what you'll get most of the time (angle to the sun, shade, positioning, dirt on the panel, lots of variables). Then you can reliably size your solar panels to your power needs as well.

**Q: Can I connect these solar panels to a Goal Zero brand Sherpa 50 or 100?**
A: You would need a "BiX Car Cigarette Socket" that includes a converter adapter. After that, you'll need a Goal Zero 98043 Adapter Cable to connect it to the Yeti 400.You could potentially splice your own cable to make this work, but this is the quick and dirty way to hook it up.

**Q: Are the PV cells laminated in glass or acrylic?**
A: It looks to be the same as 5V20W where the cells are laminated in plastic which is more flexible than glass or acrylic. The plastic may be polyethylene, as it is semi-rigid and glued together with silicone sealant. The PV cells themselves are semi-rigid and are claimed to be bendable to 30 degrees angle without damage.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Portable solar without the extreme cost
*by M***E on June 22, 2022*

This review is for the ALLPOWERS 100-watt portable solar panel. First, the cost, I paid about 2 dollars a watt which is far better than any other "portable" solar panel that I have seen. Regular glass solar panels are going for less than a dollar a watt. Second, it is portable and would make a great choice for charging an electric bike battery "in the field" with a DC boost converter. I gave the panel 4 stars in weight because it is over 4 pounds but, that is not an issue since it can be stowed in a backpack with its small size. There is a parallel port to add another panel in parallel for faster charging. There are no MC-4 connectors supplied but, lots of solar generator plugs which goes hand in hand with portable solar generators. I know someone who has one of these and it is still working. Hardly a testimony, but a reason to take a chance on this solar panel.
