Very effective and high quality ssd enclosure. it is very well made, easy to set up with whatever SSD you have. It has a metal body and ventilation ports with the addition of a quiet switchable fan: so temperature control should not prove a problem. It is future proof in spec and although not cheap I feel offers very good long term use at a reasonable cost.

This is a great external drive housing for a Mac Mini. Its Thunderbolt 4 connector means that it performs really well. Not quite as fast as the internal SSD but pretty close. It comes with a Thunderbolt 4 cable which is well constructed. Fitting the SSD was simple and took a few seconds. The case is metal and solid - it will survive the rigours of travel. My only criticism is that the fan needs to be switched on or off using a button. I would much rather that the fan is triggered when the SSD temperature goes above a certain level. I found the fan to be a little noisy but it is not far from me and it may be less intrusive in other setups.

Excellent enclosure - easy assembly, speed is excellent - around 3100MB/2900MB R/W. Temperatures have been great even WITHOUT turning on the inbuilt fan (when mac is under GPU load running LLM related workload - see screenshot): SMART/Health Information (NVMe Log 0x02, NSID 0xffffffff) Critical Warning: 0x00 Temperature: 32 Celsius Available Spare: 100% Available Spare Threshold: 10% Percentage Used: 0% Data Units Read: 1,977,041 [1.01 TB] Data Units Written: 1,804,176 [923 GB] Host Read Commands: 20,136,510 Host Write Commands: 14,040,961 Controller Busy Time: 230 Power Cycles: 52 Power On Hours: 59 Unsafe Shutdowns: 4 Media and Data Integrity Errors: 0 Error Information Log Entries: 0 Warning Comp. Temperature Time: 0 Critical Comp. Temperature Time: 0 Turning on the fan only lowered the temp by around 2-3c. SSD used: Kingston NV3 NVMe PCIe 4.0 Internal SSD 2TB M.2 2280-SNV3S/2000G One thing to note is that is compatible with mac sequoia running as a start up disk! Rock stable!
