Today, the quality is such that they are used as protection over a second pair of bulky gloves that I can only guess are used in 100amp 240 vac or greater scenarios by most electricians. I am pretty sure that the goatskin gloves in the 70's cost over $20/pr and were assembled domestically using high quality domestic goatskin. Today, those same gloves, if available, would cost 4-5 times as much.
