I have some that are 7/8".** A: I do think that the smallest should work for 7/8. If you buy a gallon of water that cap opens with the 2nd spot. As a bonus with this tool you can open pull top food cans. On the big end you have a flat piece that pulls up the ring on cans. Then hold tool straight up by the handles and put thick piece on ring and brace the ring pull up to edge of can top and pull back.. I have Arthritis and this is the best product I have found by far and the price is great also. **Q: Will this help open a wide mouth pickle jar?** A: It well but not with the round part. On the top is a hook and you pop it on and lift. Like an old bottle opener. Once popped it twist’s right off. **Q: will this fit a 4 inch lid?** A: I don’t believe it will as the largest opener is barely 3 inches and won’t stretch to 4. **Q: How is it a CAN opener, pls?** A: The product description states "can also be used to open the ring pull cans" so I suppose it can help to open cans that have a ring pull on them, but I have not tried this function.
