Not the newer version that was released in 2020.** A: The card backs being different is the main drawback, but easily remedied with sleeves. Vol 1 does include cards for random wonder selection, which is nice (vol 2 omits these). Also, wonder boards vary in size between the two. Note that the Babel expansion and Wonder Pack will be old (vol 1) versions as they have not been reprinted as revised editions just yet. That being said, Babel is completely compatible with both versions due to the oversized cards. **Q: How come some boxes say 3-7 players and others say 3-8? which is correct? thanks and god bless!** A: The game accommodates 7 players, however the cities expansion can allow you to increase player number to 8. You can visit the board game geek site (or search “7 wonders with 8 players) to find an overview for this option. **Q: What language is this in? the description is english, but the images of the cards are french. i would like english, to match my base game.** A: The cities expansion I purchased was in English (although I believe the box contains separate rule sheets for other languages). It should be noted that there are two different versions of the cities and leaders expansion. If you mix volume 1 and 2, the card backs will differ. Check your base game. Vol 2 has gold lettering on the box cover, vol 1 does not. The volume 2 expansions (cities, leaders, and armada) will have shined gold lettering on the box as well. Just make sure you get the expansion that matches your base game.
