This is a beautiful set. They have nice weight in your hand, wash and dry well and seem to resist scratches. I've had these a few months and they have been heavily used but still look like the day I got them. I thought the knives would just be good for butter and cutting soft things like potatos etc., but they cut everything! I also purchased steak knives when I got these, but I don't even need them unless I'm going for "looks" because these cut steak, chicken... everything! The only complaint is that the knife handles are fatter than the rest of the set. It feels good in my hand, but they JUST fit in the cutlery drawer without falling into the fork section. It doesn't bother me enough to take away a star. These are excellent quality and I would be suprised that anyone who tried them didn't like them. UPDATE 1/23/16 - almost 3 years later I am still using and washing these daily since this is the only silverware/flatware set I have in my kitchen. I only hand wash because I don't have a dishwasher (much to my disappointment haha). They still look great, though they do show some light scratching, mostly consistent scratching on the fork tines. This doesn't bother me because they are heavily used in our house and my husband has this cute habit of tossing silverware into the sink from his seat at the kitchen table. Consequently our stainless steel sink looks a little beat too. There is no discoloration, no rusting, no bending -- except one of the larger spoons my husband used to scoop ice cream with even though we have 3 ice cream scoops and he's lucky I love him and think he's cute... he did bend it back and it looks as good as the others, I can't tell which one it was (it was only a slight bend, which is a testament to the strength of this set). I don't remember seeing anything on the backside which would detract from their overall appearance. Look nice, Feel nice, and imagine they will last for decades! *by M***E on 4 April 2024* I love the weight and FEEL of them in my hand. I even love the FEEL in my mouth as I eat with them! Much nicer than fifty some year old silver plated silverware set I have used for decades. Even the knives are sharper than any set I have used like this , even at friend's homes! They easily cut meat and tough veggies. They look nice and I enjoy their simple pattern. The instructions say to be sure and use the drying cycle in your dishwasher. I have few dishes and so wash them by hand and now must dry these instead of leaving them in the rack to dry. However, I am doing so, because I really enjoy them otherwise. I have had some Zwilling knives for decades when you care for them properly! They outlast many other knives so I assume their flatware might be the same, and they appear to be.
