Oatcakes have never been made with butter. In the "olden days" Lard was used as the shortening, today all manufacturers use vegetable oil in oatcakes. They are still very tasty and as a daily user of oatcakes I personally find Walkers to be the very best brand. **Q: Is there any palm oil in them? No list of ingredients given.** A: I just went into the kitchen and had a look on one of the actual packages I bought some time ago here on amazon, and strangely enough it lists exactely the same ingredients that Mac'C listed. i.e. no palm oil, just rapeseed oil!
