They are pretty amazing! **Q: Is this the 3/8 size recommended for running shoes? I don’t want to order the longer ones by mistake.** A: I have the 3/8 inch size in a pair of boots. The thinnest part of the soul on my boots is 5/8 inch thick. They worked great on solid ice which was on a hill. I could not slide even when I tried. The soles on my Nike tennis shoes are 5/8 inch @ the toe & to about 1 1/8 inch @ the heal. The 3/8 inch would work just fine in those shoe. The 3/8 means that the thread are 3/8 of an inch long.
