Numbers are large and easy to read, emptying is a total breeze. The monthly total ring around the top is not tight enough but this is not a major issue, it can be simply unclipped if required, leaving you with a plain gauge. Overall a great piece of kit and very easy to use. I will test for calibration against other gauges in the weeks ahead. Purchased to replace an old one that my grandson broke with a football. This rain guage is handy as a basic and has a little rim that can be turned as it is marked and numbered to enable rain to stay in it to see how much it is increasing in depth over a week or month. There is no stem with the guage though, to would need probably and appropriate sized length of dowel or similar to place it on. I had the old stem so was able to use that. Without a stem, I would have just placed the actual guage into the flower bed by pushing the base into the soil. It is better on a stem though.
