Mine are outward opening. My hinges are on the outside face of the post, about 10cms from the edge. You can also have hinges set on the side face of the post and the gates opening outwards. Contacted them via email only and they wanted to know measurements , weight of gates pictures, even through gate has opperated non stop for 2 years. Then you get an abrupt German and that's all a disaster. I cannot deal with these like this so I have now gone to Topens.
