Then I noticed a house in a nearby neighborhood that had installed LED strips permanently. The idea of putting lights up once and having the ability to even turn them on/off in any seasonal color felt like a huge win. It was a bit more of an investment than regular Christmas lights, but I'll never need to take them down or put them back up.Ok so about these specific lights. It was important to find a strip that was coat effective, weather proof, and easy to install. These hit all three. Comparing them to other brands, these give the most bang for your buck. For the same price most others only offer 5 meters where they offer double. The strips have a thick clear silicon finish which makes them weather proofing. It is importation note, these are not to be submerged in water. Finally they have a pretty strong 3M brand backing making them easy to adjust to any clean flat surface.To install, I first planned out my power source which I decided my garage had an electrical outlet allowing me to keep the transformer inside the garage. I used a standard RGB wire and connectors also found on Amazon to get wiring to the first strip. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the siding of the house really well, peeled the backing from the strip and taped the strip to the inner park of my roofs awning. I used RBG brackets to secure the two ends for extra durability.It is slightly more effort than plug and play, but the extra time makes for that permanent install. The strip is so thin, it is barely noticeable during the day unless you really look for it.Overall very happy with the purchase and especially with their customer service. I had some questions on install and they were quick to respond and ensure my complete satisfaction. I always thought it was a gimmick. Just another way to get your money. I have a 24” LCD monitor and the strips provides more than adequate light behind it. Being able to dim it or brighten it, or allow it to transition to other colors or remain static is a huge. Because of the light behind the monitor, I don’t have to use my desk lamp as much, as the lights provide enough to help me not strain my eyes while working..This is extremely easy to install, again another A+. They are bright, colors are vivid and set up was breeze in under 10 mins. To change the light settings you will have press the in-line controller but, once you find a setting you like, you'll probably just leave it there.Only I issue I had was the controller end disconnected from the strip, it’s easy to slide off.
