I could have ordered a L. It ran a little big and the V shape neck was a little lower than I was expecting. I wore the same color t-shirt under it, to not be too exposed as I prefer more of a modest look. The dress itself is really cute and I would definitely order it again; in a different color. The gray is a dark gray. The skirt portion came just above the knee maybe an 1"- 2". I wore a black pencil skirt under it with a black/gray/white long scarf and pumps and received a lot of compliments. It looks really cute belted as well. It would be cute with tights and boots. It wasn't clingy. It is made of good quality T-Shirt material and it is not see through or show any body imperfections, always a bonus!
