So the songs just play in the order they are loaded on the card.Other thoughts: the music was almost too loud.. the lowest volume setting was barely tolerable indoors. I figured it would be better if used outside, so we took it to the beach and it was almost too loud. We literally had to wrap it inside a beach towel in order not to completely disturb all our neighbors..I'm going to return the item to Amazon.
