It works brilliantly for fountain pens and minimal bleed through, and shows of properties like shade and sheen in some inks. Writing on the paper is gloriously smooth and pleasant. I like spiral books because they can lay flat, and this is no exception. I have deducted a star because the cover arrived with scuffing on it.
