The padding is not visible through clothing at all. The material feels very high quality, durable, and soft. The padding does not come "pre-installed" so you must place it into the garment yourself by sliding it into these little pockets on the insides. Honestly, I was not pleased about this and definitely was not looking forward to this when I ordered them, as it struck me as something that involves some degree of skill, which seldom goes well for me. It gives a nice waist shape, especially when paired with a corset. Its padding around the butt area is lacking, so I would get more foam to put at your butt area.
