The sleek metal design is perfect for storing things you want out of sight, but not out of reach, like hard drives and hubs. Not compatible with iMac M2 Review: Brilliant invention! - Anyone with an iMac or iMac Pro needs one of these. (In my case, two.) What a great way to clear the mess behind your computer. Instead of drives and cables woven around, mine are more organized than they had been. The shelves allow you to basically piggyback a drive on the back of your iMac so it is not taking up desk space. You can also use shorter cables (provided) to be even neater. They also come with pegs so thin drives can stack on their sides, letting you put more than one on the platform. I bought 2 Backpacks. You are able to add them above or below the hole where the power cable goes through. Using the pegs from both sets, I am able to have 3 external SSDs on the top Backpack. The bottom currently holds a larger drive lying flat, which is my Time Machine drive. I think the backpack is a brilliant invention that I didn't know I needed until I saw it. ADDED LATER: Since my original review, a friend told me it read as though I worked for the company or was compensated. No to both. I may have been a bit enthusiastic because it has been a great help to me. I have read some of the negative comments, especially about price, and noticed desertcart has lowered the price since I bought both of mine. I am adding a photo of my configuration. As for it not being sturdy, I have had no problems. I did put the heavier drive in the bottom position and it seems stable. I read on this page or the manufacture's that there is a weight limit of 3 1/2 pounds. My drive weighs much less. Review: Works as Expected - My desk looks much better - This was easy to install, and holds all of my hard drives and cables out of the way. I like the configurable design because it allows for the installation of two, if necessary. ## Features - Designed, sold & supported by Twelve South, a family-owned small business in Charleston, South Carolina - Helps create an organized workspace by elevating hard drives and other peripherals off your desk - Adds a space-saving shelf that mounts to the back or front of your iMac or Apple Display. I like the configurable design because it allows for the installation of two, if necessary. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Holds drives and does it well! *by T***. on August 25, 2019* Works perfectly - everything arrived just as advertised! The one thing I personally didn't think to consider was that my computer wouldn't be as close to the wall as I had originally planned. I'll adjust just fine, but it something to be mindful of! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/55231001-twelve-south-backpack-for-imac-and-apple-displays-hidden-storage](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/55231001-twelve-south-backpack-for-imac-and-apple-displays-hidden-storage) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
