I can't comment on the sweating side that others have rated badly on as my daughter is warm but not sweaty. Would question what they were putting on their LOs and number of blankets if that bad. Yes the holes are sewn up so you do have to cut through the ones you want but with a sharp pair of pointy scissors this is easily done and a perfect fit for my baby seat.
