Now I’m 35 and trying to make a more concerted effort to better my dental hygiene but I still fall short of the bare minimum on a semi-regular basis.My hygienist recommended LOLOZ at my visit 6 months ago and so I gave them a shot. I figured it couldn’t hurt. I ended up having two boxes, 3 months apart and when I went to my dental cleaning appointment last week my hygienist was blown away by the difference it made. She said I had barely any plaque at all and my gums were so healthy looking. It was actually the first time in my entire life where I had a cleaning that didn’t hurt from tooth sensitivity.And best part of all, NO CAVITIES! I’m about to order another box and make it a regular habit. I don’t know if they helped my tendency toward cavities. I’ve been getting a lot of small cavities in the last 3-5 years.The Berry flavor was very tasty. I wouldn’t say it tasted like berry. It’s a pleasant herbalish flavor. It didn’t taste like licorice either, which I appreciated. Much to my surprise, it wasn’t grossly over-sweetened like most sugar or sugar-substituted products.I did have nearly-constant mild intestinal gas while doing the lozenges. No pain, just gas. If effective for cavities, I could live with that now and then. However, I have deep concerns about the effects of isomalt on gut bacteria. It seems like it increases bifidobacteria, which might be good, but might not be. I would like to see more research. My microbiome is precious to my health. I did have a flare of depression and brain fog two days into the course of Loloz. It could be disruption of gut bacteria, or something else entirely. Too few people are aware how important your gut bugs are. They determine sufficiency of several critical vitamin, such as vitamin K. I ordered the berry for me and it is tasty but I prefer the orange (my wife's). Lemon is in the cupboard for about 4 months down the road. There is a level of blind trust that goes into this lozenge because unless you get your mouth swabbed, and checked pre- and post-lozenge application, you really do not know if it is killing all those little bacteria in your mouth "that cause cavities and bad breath". Moreover, as you are sucking it down and the compounds enter your gut, are there any gut microbial effects that are not mentioned in the research? Only time will tell.
