My other 1 qt. pot is a nice stainless steel one but in order to put enough water to cover the egg the water comes almost to the top edge and spills over. This one is not only perfect for one egg but it actually will hold 3-4 eggs. And, there is still about 1" of space left above the water to the top lip of the pot. It is absolutely perfect for what I wanted. The only downside is that I had ordered this pot and the first one came so dented that it was completely ruined. It looked like it had been crushed by some type of vise because the large dents were on both sides exactly opposite each other. I almost didn't reorder for fear they would all come dented, but this one is just fine.
