Worth buying and working through it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ a great resource *by A***L on 4 March 2014* This book is slightly different to a lot of IELTS writing skills books in that it has exercises, topical and academic vocabulary, and grammar explanations useful for parts one and two of the academic writing. It helps the students think about how they approach tasks and encourages them to read widely. For example, there are chapters on supporting arguments, giving opinions and avoiding generalisations as well as newspaper extracts on topical issues such as working from home. There are three chapters on part one. There are a lot of detailed exercises on comparative language, describing trends and so on, but in common with most books, there isn't much on HOW to group information in charts and graphs. Again, it encourages learners to think about topics covered in part one, such as how a town has changed in recent years.
