I admit, I bought them in part for the pattern (why be boring on the court?), but they are well worth it for the quality. I couldn't wait to try them. I much prefer the wood (timber) paddles like these - it's a more satisfying zing. I was worried about weight vs the graphite, but I found that I prefer the more solid feel of wood. They are light enough for me (small female) and the grips were quite comfortable. Of course the carry case is a huge plus. I wish they had sent an outdoor ball as well, but these 2 are plenty to get started. I purchased these based on a recommendation of a friend who also has some Duck Paddles..although mine are definitely wayy cooler than his! Yes I do love the graphics on the wood paddles but what I really like is the grips...it's hard to describe it but these paddles just feel good when you hold them.
