The chain mail can grab your hair but that should've been expected (by me). Unfortunately, all of them were too just a tad too small for me. I decided I'd forgo a helmet and try a chainmail coif, and boy am I glad I did. The opening in the front is just big enough so I can get my chin through and it rests on to of my eyebrows. The quality is amazing. It comes heavily oiled as not to rust, and the black plating is great, it isn't just black paint, it is an actual plating on the chainmail so it should not wear like black paint would. Since it is a plating, though, it is a very dark grey, and not a true black, but no complaints from me. The chain links are a high gauge steel and not aluminum so this thing is HEAVY. I honestly believe it could be battle ready with its durability.
