Seems cheaply made as it comes off at the hinges, but still does the job. I don't expect any of the other brands to be much different.The sushi bazooka makes it easier to roll sushi, just coat the barrel with a little bit of sesame oil so the rice won't stick to it when pushed out, place a layer of rice on both halves, add crab, fish, avocado, cucumber or whatever you want on either half, close it, cap it, twist it to compress the rice, then lay out your seaweed (not included) lengthwise and push out your sushi roll. Just that simple. Be sure not to put too much rice or else you'll have a hard time closing it as I did.After you push it out onto the seaweed, which should be on top of the rolling mat, lineup your roll and the seaweed then using the rolling mat, roll it over and tuck the mat once you've come to the other side of the roll, but before then add a little water on the other end of the seaweed to make sure it sticks to the rice. Cut your roll in the middle first so you'll have equal pieces.There you go! Really easy, but it might take a little longer than traditional sushi rolling because you have to put it in the bazooka rather than directly onto the seaweed. Still a fun tool to use.Overall, really happy with my purchase and with this particular bundle too. This also came with a bamboo sushi mat, a pair of chopsticks and an avacado slicer which was a bonus. I did check out a few video tutorials on this first just to get an idea instead of just looking at the paper directions. The only thing I was not a fan of was the amount of rice you use as the roll is quite large. It was still fun making these. The bonus bamboo mat was great because I decided to make smaller roll by hand just to see if I could do it and was pleasantly surprised how easy making them by hand it was. Although using this sushi roller was easier (at least for ME) than trying to roll up the rice in the seaweed, I wish the hinges were permanently attached as they kept coming unhinged, making it difficult to close the filled roller.
