Using pencil pleat header tape on your curtains - count four pockets then insert first prong, Miss a pocket, insert second prong, Miss a pocket ets. When finished using a needle and length of thread I over stitched the base of the pinch pleat to hold it securely. These hooks are ‘mid length’ hooks so your curtain top will be slightly above the hanging rail. If you want your curtains to hang below the rail you need the longer length hook hope that helps **Q: Can these be used on a pole with rings** A: We did not use these on a pole with rings ,but I am sure they could be **Q: Can you use on normal curtain tape?.** A: I got these to use on a pair of ready made 90" curtains. They have a 3" header tape with pleat pockets. I left a 3 pocket gap between pleats to achieve the desired effect. I still have to sew the bottom of the pleat to complete the look. Found it very easy and I'm a blokey bloke. **Q: Will it work on 5” pencil pleat tape?** A: Yes, it will be fine - I have used 6 inch tape.
