Review: Perfect tool for this job - PROS: -Little goes a long way. You get a big jar for a pretty small amount of money. In most things I’ve found you only need about a pea size amount of wax. So this jar should last you ages unless you’re literally tacking down a museum worth of items. -Works well. Like I said, I usually use just a pea amount of the wax in anything I need it for. And with that I even usually divide it into 4 parts and stick some on each of the four corners of my items and press firmly. After that, the items isn’t going anywhere. I don’t live in earthquake country and I don’t have a cat or child but I am positive it would work great against any of those. -Removes easily. A simple twist of the item and it comes off. And so far I haven’t had any issue with wax damage. -Easy to work with. It’s a simple matter of scoop, squad it between your fingers a couple times, place, and press. No real kneading required. CONS: -Although it is easy to work with it can be a little difficult to get a decent amount of wax out at once. The scoop it provides is pretty small and weak compared to the solid block of wax. Most things only need a small amount anyway so it doesn’t matter, but if you need a lot or need it often you’ll probably need to swap for a better scoop that can handle the thick wax. -Though I haven’t had an issue with wax damage, I can tell the residue can be a pain to get off. So far it’s been able to come off with simple rubbing but it might need proper cleaning at some times. I don’t know if this will adversely effect items you stick it to -Not clear. Personally I don’t count this as a negative since seems obvious that it is going to be white since it’s a wax and not a gel, but since it does say clear in the title I feel I should mention this. Overall if you need something like this, this is probably your best bet. I wanted to use the gel since it seems a little easier to work with, but that one specifically says it’s not good for wood or porous material. This one is supposed to be better for those materials so I tried it. I am not disappointed. I can also tell this is gonna last me for years.
Review: Cat proof! - I have new kitten that likes to get into things, up on things, and weave around my treasured keepsakes. He also paws at my pictures on the wall and tilts them. I worry he is going to break one of them. He did break one of my favorite pieces of décor, knocking it in the floor from the top of my bookshelf, and I went on the hunt for something to keep my belongings secured. After some research I found this miracle of a product. I am happy to report that this stuff works like a charm. It is easy to use, easy to apply, and you have a few minutes of a window to remove it from the object, or to reposition it before it hardens a bit. To remove you just use a bit of dental floss or fishing line to cut it off and then clean any residue off with some all purpose cleaner. It's worked like a charm. I have seen him weaving through my things now and nothing budges. I even put a few pieces of it on the back of my picture frames, on the bottom corner, to act as a stabilizer. I'm pleased to report there's been no more tilted pictures! Just don't use TOO much, or it can squeeze out from the sides/bottom. You don't need nearly as much as you think you do. Ideally I'd like to keep him from getting up there, but all cat owners know that's easier said than done. I'm so happy that I got this product, it gives me peace of mind knowing I won't come home to all of my irreplaceable décor broken. If you have a rowdy cat, give this a try!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Museum wax left a stain on my painted wooden table. the wood is painted with a flat (not glossy) finish. Wax left a slick mark on it. How to remove?**
A: Wax will absorb into porous materials. Soft unfinished woods and fabrics. A citrus based wax cleaner remover such as goo gone or goof off could exfoliate the residue but it would inherently do the same with any natural oil finish you have on the furniture. Otherwise it might dull the finish.

**Q: What color is this**
A: Our QuakeHOLD! Museum Wax comes in an transparent neutral color that turns nearly clear when pressed against a surface. It's ideal for glass, china, or crystal objects.

**Q: Can this be used for heavy stone objects?**
A: Our QuakeHOLD! Museum Wax will certainly help secure your stone object but would not have the strength to completely stop it from falling over, depending on the weight. We also do not suggest using our Museum Wax on any porous surfaces, but if your stone is "sealed" or finished, it will work as intended.

**Q: Is it safe for painted surfaces ?**
A: I’ve used it on painted and finished surfaces and it works great. If there is a residue leftover I’ll hit it with the hairdryer and wipe it up

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Benefits & drawbacks of wax
*by D***S on October 9, 2019*

Living in earthquake country, securing anything hanging is a priority, so I have extensively used wax, putty, and gel throughout my home. How things are used determines the product. I prefer using wax for securing pictures (after they have been properly hung). Wax is soft and easy to work with, and it is easy to “softly” reposition pictures on small balls of wax until they are just right. Then a nice, firm push on all four corners at the same time, and the picture is held securely in place. No more crooked pictures, and no broken glass on the floor when someone accidentally brushes next to a picture. The photos and plaster items on the pictured wall continuously get knocked into and messed with by small children. Nothing has moved yet. I prefer their “solid” style wax when compared to their wax that already comes in balls. It’s a small hassle to have to dig out the wax, but different weights and sizes of pictures demand different sizes of wax, so the solid allows for any and all sizes and configurations. Wax is great for hanging up temporary posters too. It won’t pull paint off walls or damage surfaces such as wood, and it’s easy to place and remove the posters without damaging them. Wax definitely has its drawbacks. It gets dirty by holding on to dust, and it’s hard to clean, so if it’s used in a place where it can be seen, it needs to be replaced from time to time. It can also be a major pain to clean up some surfaces such as stucco. But wax is also semi-transparent, so it becomes a tossup at times whether to use wax or putty. I prefer this particular brand of wax because of its qualities. It’s soft and pliable when you work with it, but it hardens up afterward making it a little easier to keep it clean longer. While this is advertised as “quake” hold, this stuff is invaluable to anyone who’s experienced the benefits of continuously straight, undamaged pictures, even with small children running rambunctiously through the house! I also use it to secure some items to my mantle.
