Filled it, but it wouldn’t light. Thought that, perhaps, I needed to put in a flint. Emptied it out and took the flint system out, had one in there. Put it back together, which was VERY “fiddley” on the striker part, re-filled it and tried to light it. No-go. Took a LOT of tries, but finally figured it out. You push the lever down and it opens the lid, but it doesn’t light until you let the lever spring back. Haven’t had it long enough to provide an observation on leakage, or evaporation, but will monitor such, I did do an extra tightening of the screws on both sides. I like the look of the thing, so will attempt to make it useful. It would be nice if they included some instructions though. Addendum, after several days ownership: placed the lighter, on it’s side, on a paper towel for a few hours, then on the other side for a few hours. It did not leak at all, but as I said, I did go over every screw to make sure they were tight. However, as it sits here in my kitchen, I am noticing that the fuel is going down. I presume through the evaporation someone else mentioned. Slightly annoying, but “Oh, well”, I like the thing anyway.
