The metal block is smooth, flat and heavy. It separates from the rubber base easily yet still fits snug when together. The hammer is a child’s toy. Extremely light weight and not suitable for any real use. The gold foil arrived flaking off from the head of the hammer and it was loosely attached to the handle. I tried to use it to strike a metal design stamp, just to see, and the stamp left a considerable dent in the head.
