I highly suggest making sure that each panel is installed in such a way that the tension from filling helps hold it together versus pushing it outward. It doesn't say that in the instruction manual, but I think that's the most logical way to put it together. Overall It seems like a very good product, and I'm interested to see how long it can last for. The amount of dirt bags depends on how much dirt is in each bag. I put 6 bags of dirt (2 cubic feet each) and then added another to top the planter off. I also lined the bottom with cardboard before I put the dirt inside so grass and weeds wouldn't grow into my raised bed.
