**Q: Does it have a lacquer  or a coating on it to protect it from tarnishing?**
A: The Bowl is Lacquer coated from outside.

**Q: Are the bowls food-safe out of the box, or do they need to be treated first before use like some copper bowls?**
A: I think it needs to be treated because mine got discolored from using.  I didn't know it was to be treated.  I wonder how to get the dark discoloration out of it now.  Thanks for asking.  Now maybe you can help me, lol.

**Q: what is the liquid capacity of this bowl?**
A: It's definitely not 1 cup ...lol

**Q: Why did the inside turn silver when I put water in there?**
A: Copper turns green because of chemical reactions with the elements. ... Just as iron that is left unprotected in open air will corrode and form a flaky orange-red outer layer, copper that is exposed to the elements undergoes a series of chemical reactions that give the shiny metal a pale green outer layer called a patina
